Next month, May 28, cyberpunk cat adventure Stray is also getting the Switch 2 treatment, sporting improved 4K visuals, a frame rate boost and, fittingly given its feline focus, mouse controls.

People of Note Review: It's a Musical World, and I Wanna Live in It
Despite being completely bereft of anything resembling musical talent myself, I love the culture that surrounds music and its many genres. From the mechanical knowledge that goes into music production to a genre’s associated iconography, music is a veritable reality in itself. I’ve seen plenty of stories, movies, and games interpret that in a more literal sense, creating entire settings that revolve largely around music as a concept and cultural touchstone, the newest of which is Iridium Studios and Annapurna Interactive’s People of Note.
On its surface, People of Note feels like something I’ve seen before, a turn-based RPG set in a world with music as its very lifeblood. While it’s not the most original concept in the universe, People of Note approaches it with a sense of both earnestness and accessibility that I can’t help but get drawn into. Also, it’s got some supremely bangin’ tunes, but it’d be kind of weird if a game like this didn’t have an excellent soundtrack, frankly.

Well, I Cried Watching The ‘Forever Ago’ Trailer
Today, publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Third Shift revealed a new trailer for Forever Ago during the Xbox Partner Preview. A third-person single-player road trip adventure telling a heartfelt story of redemption.
Set to launch in Fall of 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Xbox, and Epic Games Store, I am just here to say that I don’t think a trailer has made me that emotional in a very, very, very long time. Based in Germany, Third Shift is a narrative-focused indie game studio founded by two best friends, and Forever Ago is their debut title.

I Played People of Note, a Unique Musical RPG Blending Final Fantasy With Pop Songs
It's been a while since rhythm mechanics moved beyond Guitar Hero and Rock Band to empower neat versions of action games, like Crypt of the Necrodancer, BPM: Bullets Per Minute and Hi-Fi Rush. Rarely does it grace role-playing games, and then only in quick-time events to make attacks or defenses stronger. But People of Note is an upcoming RPG that doesn't just implement rhythm into combat -- it weaves music through the whole package, from the combat and items to the characters and world around.

The creators of Mixtape want to make a great hangout video game
For most adventure games, the long-term goal can often focus on solving a grand mystery or chasing a lost artifact of the past. But for the upcoming Mixtape, from publisher Annapurna Interactive, it sets its sights on the misadventures of young friends enjoying their last days together before moving on. It's the type of narrative adventure game that shines a light on how good music can bring people together, and how much fun getting into trouble can be.
