Mixtape Content Creator Guidelines
Since the licensed soundtrack is the soul of this game, we want you to be able to share your highlights while understanding the risks of copyright strikes.
Heads up: Mixtape does NOT have a dedicated "Streamer Mode." This means all the licensed tracks will play exactly as intended against the gameplay.
- For Live Streamers (Twitch & YouTube)
Because there’s no automatic toggle to swap out licensed music, you have a couple of choices:
MUSIC ON: If you stream with the music on, your VODs and Clips will likely be muted or flagged by DMCA systems. If you're okay with the live "vibe" being great but the archive being silent, go for it!
VODS: If you need your VODs to stay intact, you’ll need to manually turn the Music Volume to 0 in the game's audio settings. You can then play your own DMCA-safe playlist in the background. (We know, it’s not as cool as our soundtrack, but it keeps your channel safe!) - Posting to Socials (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
The "In-App" Rule: Always use the platform’s built-in music library to add the track over your gameplay.
Length Matters: Keep your music-heavy clips under 90 seconds. - YouTube Long-form Content
If you’re making a review or a "Let’s Play," be aware that YouTube’s Content ID will likely claim the revenue for that video because of the licensed songs. You probably won't get a strike, but the record labels will get the ad money.
If you want to monetize your video, you'll need to record your gameplay with the Music Volume turned off.
